A portrait of my son. Once a week, every week in 2013.

:: I do just adore his soft golden hair and yes sometimes I like to put it up in ponytails and sometimes he even obliges and lets me. ::

A portrait of my son. Once a week, every week in 2013.

:: My little explorer, captain of his very own ‘sail boat’. ::

I love to wonder at the goings on inside my boys head. There are always imaginary fish to catch (and eat) and seas to sail and rocket ships to man. Yesterday, the giant park fort underneath the Moreton Bay Figs became his ship as he ran from one end to the other, collecting treasure of sticks and stones and silver coins (bottle tops). To create so much, with so little, is the beauty of the child’s imagination.

A portrait of my son. Once a week, every week in 2013.

:: On a late afternoon catch-up with friends by the bay. This boy is at his very happiest outdoors and with people: on this particular afternoon it wasn’t hard to capture his joy.::

Linking up with the lovely Jodi as always.

15/52 portrait

A portrait of my son. Once a week, every week in 2013.

:: Last week was one of those weeks. Sickness, crankiness, and not getting out of the house enough. And then we woke on Sunday and felt well enough to make the drive to my parents, to the beach, to this most special place that will always hold my heart: Fingal. So we did. And at the beach my mum built rock castles with Lachie, and my dad played soccer with him and I was finally able to exhale and relax. ::

Have you been looking through the links for the 52 Project over at Che & Fidel? Each week the number of observant, beautiful, and quirky images blows me away. I loved these captures of twins Hamish and Roc in the golden light. It’s always hard to go past sweet faces bathed in that warm afternoon glow.

A portrait of my son. Once a week, every week in 2013.

:: When he was still in my tummy I had a feeling that somehow, despite his brown eyed, brown haired parents, we would have a blue eyed, blonde haired boy. ::

From last week, the joy in these kiddos eyes is beautiful.
